Carpet
Nothing beats carpet underfoot for a feeling of warmth and luxury, which is why it remains the most popular form of floor covering. Since this item accounts for a large portion of your budget when furnishing a home, it is important to make a considered choice-the wrong one could be a costly mistake you will just have to live with.
Your initial considerations undoubtedly will focus on the color and design of your carpet. Color seems to be the most important decision and after that choosing between patterns and plains. There are, however, a number of other factors to bear in mind. For instance, it is useful to know a little about different carpet fibers, about the various methods of construction and the different types of pile. Knowing which carpet is most appropriate for different parts of the house is also an important factor to consider when making a purchase.
Color and Design
The decoration and furnishings in the room, the size of the room and your personal preferences will all have to be borne in mind when you choose a new carpet. A small room will appear larger if carpeted with a light color and a small house or flat can be made to seem more spacious if the same neutral color is used throughout. Neutral colors-beige, sand or grey, for instance will also allow you to change color schemes when redecorating without having to replace little-worn carpet to coordinate.
A patterned carpet need not necessarily make a room appear smaller; small patterns and some geometric designs can have the opposite effect but large bold designs and strong colors do tend generally to have a shrinking effect so save these for rooms that appear over-large and unfriendly.

Thought Of The Day
When you are unsure what a home improvement repair or project will cost because you have never done anything similar before you can ask for a home improvement estimate. Your estimate will be a guide as to what the entire project may cost and is a great way to figure out how many dollars you will need to find to remodel a room.
A home improvement estimate will cost the project based on the dimensions of your room. You will need to be specific about the materials you wish to use and the finished look that you are trying to achieve.

I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with being a woman’s rights advocate who just occasionally gets takes up the cause of some tangentially related interest group. Not at all, and feminist is a good label for that.

Hey, Zack…finally visited your blog and couldn't resist replying to your first thought.
When to be baptized…it is said that the decision to follow Jesus (and subsequent baptism) is the 'most important' decision that a person makes. I have seen elementary school children make this decision and are baptized. Two of my grandsons (ages 11 and 10) have done so. I obviously am undecided on a specific age/timeframe when to be baptized.
However, when this same boy/girl decides to get married right after high school graduation, they encounter many obstacles from people who question their maturity and the propriety of their decision.
So the question is: IF the decision to be baptized is the 'most important' decision a person makes, why aren't they 'mature enough' to make a rational and proper decision to get married…approximately nine years after making the 'most important' decision in their lives?
Just wondering what others think.

So big patterns go with solids? No big patterns with small patterns?

I was like, halfway through the fashion feed on iheartsl when I noticed the new colors (love them! neutral colors = happy corneas!) and the improved formatting (yay!) The site has such a nice, clean feel to it – it's really looking great. I appreciate Gogo for the original idea, as well as you and the rest of the team for bringing her idea to fruition. I really don't know either of you (aside from meeting you at your shop and buying half your store) but I think you are two of the best and brightest in SL. *hugs* and thank you!

I love the new AGO. Toronto has a lot of great new buildings, like the ROM and OCAD. They are architectural art pieces, although the merit of their bold designs are often debated.

This island was on the the reality show,”Scariest Places on Earth”. It was VERY interesting. They had the family,(Grandmother, Mother,Uncle, Niece) gather in a room, to explain where they're at and what they are to do. ONLY equiped w/ a small camera and even a smaller light, they put “Hoods” over theire heads and directed them to different parts of the island, and in different parts of the “Hospital” (lab, doctors office, tower, The Pit). then left alone, once the hoods were off they had to figure out WHERE they were and try to figure out WHERE EVERYONE else is, by using a “Waky-Taky” that was given to them along w/ the camera. SO they had to find eachother then Gather to The Room and find out what they needed to do next. But you have to finish before sun-up to perform a “Closing/ Cleansing” ritual.

Believe it or not but for most of the last decade the working classes went on package tours to Torremolinos and the middle classes stayed at home and went camping.
Again, some source for the claims would be interesting.
> “statistically representative selection as vastly superior to raw sortition”
Hmmm… Very cryptic.
> the conflict between the needs of the planet and people’s personal preferences. Interestingly one of the examples he gives is the case of cheap air travel.
This is a simplistic view of the situation. Personal preferences are not some kind of a fundamental force of nature. People would most likely prefer, for example, to take a train or a cruise to their vacation spot rather than be crammed into a tiny seat on an airplane. Doing so would probably be less harmful to the environment but may be more costly and would certainly be more time consuming. Thus, reducing the cost of surface transportation and lengthening vacation time may change “personal preferences” in ways that would be to the benefit of the planet.]]>
