Entering The Personalized Bar Mirror Fantasy
I made my way down the hallway, passing framed portrayals of buddies and family members. When I got to the bar, I caught a quick look of myself in one of the personalized bar mirrors . I read the “fun never ends” citation that is etched onto the mirror and wonder. Is that correct? How long can the enjoyment last? Certainly it was a pleasurable evening. Some buddies had gathered at my spot to share a meal, some memories, and a few drinks.
Looking at my reflection in the custom bar mirror and checking out the bags under my eyes, I decided to dump that pre-bed glass of wine. Instead I head to the rocker and power on HGTV. I found something relaxing to watch, hoping it would send me peacefully off to dreamland. It must have been very relaxing because I soon fell into a deep sleep. In my dream, I discovered myself in my home. One of the presenters of the home improvement show was in my dream as well. He pointed to the ceiling, showing me the cracks. He began with the ceiling above my living space. “This roof covering could be easily substituted,” he said. He stepped on to next room, leading me around as though I didn’t live there. All of a sudden, we were standing in front of the bar in the basement. He gazed at it approvingly and smiled. “Hand me a whisky,” he tells to Holmes. Instantaneously, the whiskey bottle was in my hand, and I made us two stiff drinks.
We lapped our drinks, admiring the bar. As Holmes commences whipping up the pina colada Genevieve Gorder from HGTV’s “Dear Genevieve” show walks out of the bathroom with a paint roller in one hand, a roll of blue painter’s tape in the other and a fag hanging out of her mouth. Signaling to the walls, he started to list the colors emerging in mind. Genevieve commences peeling back the blue tape and placing it randomly on the walls. Her tempo is frenzied. We rewarded ourselves for our nippy work with one more whiskey on the rocks. He raised his glass and said, “A toast to the quickest painters in the world.”
I observed my cheeks go red as I realized my house wasn’t going to meet his standards. Not having this season’s hottest paint colors on my walls was the least of my worries. Holmes can look all through the walls. Again, we were back in my home bar. “This bar mirror is lovely,” she tells. He admired the custom etched mirror. David Bromstad approves. “A special touch like this custom-build bar mirror truly makes this a personal space.” All of a sudden, for some reason, he pulled a chainsaw out from behind his back and slashed the bar in half. He didn’t seem concerned about what he was executing at all. I realized that I was wearing safety glasses and a hardhat.
I listened a voice, sounding as though it was coming from inside my dwelling. The voiceover stated, “Will the Johnsons choose the Victorian fixer-upper, the house with the big back yard, or the townhouse with half a bar and elegant, personalized bar mirrors?”
I feel a slight shaking feeling and realize my wife is standing over me, shaking me by the shoulder. I notice my wife is starting to flip off the TV as I come out of my weird dream. “I want to see which house the Johnsons picked,” I told her drowsily. She appeared puzzled for a moment. “Oh, House Hunters…they picked the third house.”
As I drifted back off into dreamland, I recognized my mind would be filled with personalized bar mirrors and bars sawed in half.
Thought Of The Day
A beautiful kitchen is something that everyone notices and will remember. If you want YOUR kitchen to be memorable but don’t have enough money to do a full remodeling job there are still ways to improve it. Don’t buy new cabinets and surfaces.
Instead get some new doors hardware and some paint or wood stain. All it takes to give new life to old cabinets is an afternoon spent with a screwdriver and a brush. Other fast and inexpensive fixes include changing out light fixtures dresser handles doorknobs and any other hardware in the house.
Landscaping can be done cheaply and independently to spruce up the outside of your home.

What is the best way to clean hand tools i.e. sockets wrenches etc
I am a big fan of WD-40. I also use other thin distillates like medium drying lacquer thinner. It will get off paint and other things that WD-40 will not.

Hi —
We're repainting my condo this year, and having a time trying to figure out what color of red to paint the front door. I love red and I love red doors, but it seems so risky to choose a color that bold. Still…
The front of my condo building is shaded by trees and shrubs. The building itself is light grey, with dark slate grey trim.
Any specific paint colors you'd recommend?
Thanks.

Your open studio looks great. The work that you put into it shows your dedication and a high holistic esthetic sense. Because most works are so large, they serve as primary features for what could be a superb living space (i.e., if it were a living space). Because of their size, and their consistency of color and spare subject matter, I'd advise anyone with large resources that they should purchase a bulk of the entire collection as ready-made for their own living space. And its a grand collection of years' work. Congratulations. I'm looking forward to seeing your future work.

I like mixing up my methods and doing things the traditional way! Letter writing is a pleasurable evening activity for me using silky smooth, high quality writing paper and and ink pen. It’s amazing how delighted people are to receive a *real* letter! I’m also getting to talk to and meet people I’ve met through Twitter – it’s great. We humans are social beings and making the time for others is necessary, rewarding and fun. Thanks, Gee.

If you eat snack bars, you can reduce waste by making your own so you don't have as much wrapper trash. My friend Sarika has a company that sells some great tasting cook-at-home bars (and super healthy too). I wholeheartedly recommend them:

We were going to have a glass of wine to celebrate the journey so far, but I remembered that I'm attempting this no sugar- no alcohol shenanigan until this week is all over. Then again, I had some sugary cereal this morning, and I would have done better in the calories department with a glass of wine rather than this afternoon's never-ending chips and salsa. Oh forget this SoBe get in shape plan! A glass of vino will be had! Thanks Ms. Judy!

These are not only amazing shots…They don't even look real. If I was only making sense. You did these beautiful! I love artistic shots like these. They could be framed and hung in your living space.
Hope you are doing well. I think of you often. I talk about you more now that your gone with your momma and tank then I ever did with you here. Only GREAT things of course and how jealous I am of your surroundings.
They Rock!
Love you girl!
