If I were to purchase a new 3/8 inch socket set what would I get for the extra cost if I purchased Mac or Snap-on over Craftsman. I know some friends who think Craftsman hand tools are crap…but they don’t say why.
For the average shade tree Craftsman tools are just fine. They have the same warranty as Mac or Snap-on. The professional mechanics usually use the more expensive tools because the tool man comes to you every week. If you brake a tool or want a new one you don’t have to stop and go to Sears to get you replacement. There is also some quality differences for the Mac and Snap-on tools but they are not important for the average DIYers.

What is the purpose of this inspection? Our association maintains a centrally monitored fire alarm system. We are required to perform annual inspections to make sure the smoke / heat detector in each unit was functioning.
We issued a notice similar to the one you received, except for the locksmith part. But if they don't provide access, we schedule another inspection with them and charge them $100 for the additional visit.
Rather than make an issue out of this, try to be reasonable. Is the inspection for a reasonable purpose? If yes, then let them inspect. If you don't trust them, be on the premises or have someone you trust on the premises to escort them.
If you don't understand why they are inspecting, then ask. I seriously doubt they just want to invade your home for no damn reason at all.

I know you're working with a family member, but I thought I'd pass on some advice. If you make any offers, make them “contingent on inspection.”
A professional home inspection around here (Pennsylvania) costs about $300-$400, but it's worth it. The inspector will check for termites and other bugs, mold ect., structural problems, and any other “big” issues that might sway your decision to buy the house. It's well worth the cost! I'm not sure how inspections work for apartments or townhouses, but we were very glad that we had it done for peace of mind.

If I remember correctly, parts of it basically went “this is scientifically proven because Wikipedia says so”.His “slow-carb” diet is basically a easier to digest low-carb diet mixed with a bit of CKD.
