Spice Racks for a More Organized Kitchen
Your kitchen must be organized if you are a home maker who likes to keep things in order. It can be difficult to find things if every spice you have is placed away from each other. An easy step to making your kitchen more organized is by purchasing spice racks. Here are some tips for choosing the spice rack you need.
Selecting Spice Racks
1. Check the Material
A well-decorated kitchen is a joy to have. A kitchen that is well designed can inspire any aspiring cook. Because a kitchen is your personal space, it must be filled with things that make things organized without sacrificing aesthetics. Some spice racks are great as decorative items if the material used to make them is impeccable.
If your kitchen is made of mostly wood and you have a lot of wooden surfaces, this may be perfect for you. If your kitchen is mostly comprised of stainless steel, as most kitchens are, you can get the spice rack that fits in with your kitchen’s general decor.
2. Installation
Some spice racks can stand on their own, while others need to be fitted into a corner of your kitchen. Serious cooks have more than a dozen spices to work with, hence a bigger rack is needed. If you have a lot of spices that need organizing, it is suggested that you get a spice rack that will accommodate all of these. A small spice rack can accommodate a maximum of ten spices. If you have more than ten spice dispensers, you may need to install a spice cabinet that contains several spice racks side by side.
3. Spice labels
Some spices, like whole black pepper, are easily identifiable. But some spices look the same when inside the bottle. When you’re in a hurry to make dinner, you might use salt instead of sour cream. Onion powder and tartar powder are easily interchangeable. Labeling is a chore so the spice rack must be equipped with features that will make this easier.
There are catalogs for spice racks online. You can find a lot of good options in a store that specializes in spices and racks. There are containers that are so beautiful and functional. Make sure you check the size of the spice rack.

Thought Of The Day
If you have been thinking about making a start in hobby foundry work in your home workshop you may be forgiven for thinking that the tools and equipment are going to cost you an arm and a leg this need not be. Sure you could trot off to the downtown industrial tools supplier and take home an arm full of expensive tools.
But if you take a good look at some of the tools you’ll discover that the design principles and fabrication could well be undertaken in the home workshop if you have metal fabrication skills and a reasonable amount of basic metal working equipment.

The SF Chron story that Heraldo posted also noted that earnings in the home improvement sector had declined across other home improvement stores.
What we may have right now is a temporary reprieve from big box home improvement development pressure. I also think that we have the same sort of temporary reprieve from any large retail development project.
I'd guess that the economy will be strengthening again, at least statewide and nationally, by 2009. Look for big box retail development pressure to resume at around that time.

You have 11 lb. ribs
Your recipe is for 2.5 lb. that is 4 1/2 times your recipe ingredients.
The best thing to do is divide the ribs into two parts (5.5lb) or four equal parts(2.75lb).
Use your recipe then for each part, for the 2 parts just double the ingredients for each 5.5lb or to make all in a large roaster multiply the recipe ingredients by 4.5
My Method for my own recipe:
I cut the ribs into 2 or 3 to a portion .
Then I boil them in a large pot of salted water for 3/4 hour, like a Dutch Oven or soup pot.I do this to shorten the oven cook time.
I then place the ribs on foil lined pan in the oven sprinkle with granulated garlic and onion powder.Oven temp. 350 F
I buy at Costco a large jug size of Diana Sauce for ribs or chicken (I like the flavour) and baste the ribs while cooking, turning over and basting again over and overand basting.
Cook time approx. 45 minutes, but may take longer with more ribs to cook.
You can test for doneness with a fork. Should be very tender when done. They are delicious.

Home Improvement Projects Strategies
Do you ever feel like you know just enough about home improvement? Let's see if we can fill in some of the gaps with the latest info from home improvement experts. Home improvement projects can be heavy on the pockets. As much as we want to give the projects to expert contractors who can deliver excellent results, sometimes, it’s just more practical to have a little exercise and do these projects without the help of contractors. People dig into their savings or resort to different loans just to finance these projects and this in turn makes them lose their financial momentum.
Home improvement strategies can help do-it-yourself enthusiasts make the most of their home improvement projects. In general, most people who undertake home improvement projects do so for two main reasons. The first aim of a home improvement project is the addition of new elements that would improve the physical aspect of the house.
A home improvement project is generally a worthwhile venture that has many advantages. Most home improvement projects arise from a certain need within the home. In contrast, other type of home improvement projects are geared toward upgrading the home.
Any home improvement project whether big or small requires considerable planning. Every home improvement requires time and money, both of which are resources that cannot be replaced once spent. Careful planning helps make sure that both resources are used wisely in order to achieve the desired results.
Before undergoing any home improvement project, it is important to take into consideration every aspect of the project. Avoid heading into any project without first considering the pros and cons so as to avoid wasting precious time, energy and money. Fortunately, there are various resources that are available to homeowners interested in undertaking a home improvement project.

Here are some do-it-yourself home improvement projects ideas that can cut back on expenses and generates savings from the project.
1) Painting
If a family is tired and bored with the current colors of their house, they can do the painting themselves. Painting the house together is a great way to bond and have fun while improving the home at the same time.
Many people who attempt to paint their houses have problems which are related to the improper selection of painting materials. You must remember that cheap paint is not the way to go when painting the house.
2) Kitchen
Installing ceramic tiles on the countertop or the floor is one of them. There are a lot of resource materials that are out there, especially on the Internet that gives a step-by-step guide on how to install these ceramic tiles.
3. Installing wallpapers
Giving a home’s walls a new look is definitely a great way to do home improvement. Wallpapers can easily be obtained from home improvement shops and stores. The different designs include hand prints which are imported, there are heavy textured wall papers, there are designs which are embossed.
There you go, some basic ideas on how to go about improving your home without the help of contractors. It takes a lot of practice, time and dedication to get your home improved, but if done properly, the process and the output will give great satisfaction.
When word gets around about your command of home improvement facts, others who need to know about home improvement will start to actively seek you out.

I like the woodwork and the spice racks, hate everything else. Actually, I could even tolerate the lights if they were placed against a plain white ceiling. But there's yet another SHOCKING PINK counter top! I guess Billy's Kitchen Emporium had all the weird colors half-off–you know, just like how carpet places always put their horrid colors on sale because nobody will buy them otherwise. And then the Wonderful World of Wacky Wallpaper also had a sale, and who could pass up a deal like that? If the Melted Crayon Box Look ever comes into fashion, we'll be ready for it!

Hello, I'm the author of a new book, Our Appliances: Home Improvement Fatigue, which I thought would be of interest to your blogging community. It's a satire of life in suburbia as told through a discussion of the family's appliances (suburban Connecticut). Anyhow, I have some unique perspectives that may be of interest.
